Just "SAY NO TO CANCER"!

Diagnosed with Cancer mid 2007 I lost my Big brother to Cancer July 2008. August 2008 I was diagnosed with "Breast Cancer". I knew as soon as I felt the lump! I contacted the Washington Breast & Cervical support department. New to Washington, needing to find a good Oncologist. Kathleen (My angel), made my appointments for me. I was seen the same day for the physical exam. The Dr said to me & I quote! (The good news is that it's painful!), meaning the chance this lump is cancer is pretty darn slim! Probably fibrous!.
Needless to say Kathleen had me scheduled for an ultrasound, mammogram the following day, biopsy 2 days after that, then came the Dr's appointment & referral to oncology.
Kathleen just wanted me to take it easy & let her worry about Dr's & appts for me, she said don't worry about paying we are non profit and will see to it that everything is covered just take it easy she said again, she treated me like I was the only person she was taking care of every time I talked to her, me not realizing at the time her phone was ringing off the hook! Seemed like everyone suddenly had cancer when I arrived at the oncologist office, the room was full!!!!!
Oh my god!! I was speechless!, scared & numb.
Stage III Infiltrating Carcinoma! I am thinking, an army has set out to kill me inside & that is exactly what the reality of Cancer is, an army of cancer cells infiltrating every bit of you inside if you don't fight back it will win & kill you!
Each & every one of us has a responsibility to fight & win in every way possible.
I have always heard "sometimes it takes a village" as a young girl, took a few years for me to
get what that really means.
Today I have a village and troops at the firing line ready to fight and "Just say No to Cancer".
